An important principle
- The Article 75/Schengen certificate forms the basis, but does not replace any special national rules of the country of destination or transit.
- The assessment deliberately distinguishes between cannabis flowers and standardised extracts/ready-to-use medicinal products (e.g. dronabinol, nabiximols/Sativex).
- Even with a complete set of documents, the final decision rests with the customs or border officials of the destination country.
Take this with you before every journey

- A copy of the prescription or a recent doctor's letter
- Carry only personal travel essentials
- Check transit countries separately

Key
GREEN
Standard case with all the necessary documentation. Nevertheless, it is not an automatic process.
YELLOW
Increased scrutiny: additional checks, product differentiation or special formalities may be required.
ORANGE
Markedly increased caution: special rules or entry practice of limited reliability.
RED
Escalation level – in this version, no country is categorised as ‘red’ across the board.
