Choose between a digital medical history and chat function, or opt for a video call. A doctor will decide on a case-by-case basis whether treatment is appropriate and whether it can be carried out remotely.
Independent, registered doctors will check your details against recognised professional standards. If necessary, they may contact you to clarify any points or get in touch with you in person.
If a prescription is medically necessary, one can be issued. It will be sent to a pharmacy of your choice.
Your enquiry will be reviewed by independent, certified doctors.
Your health data will be processed confidentially and in encrypted form on German servers in accordance with the GDPR.
As the treatment is provided as a private, out-of-pocket service on the basis of a private prescription, there is no automatic notification to your statutory health insurance provider.
Everything you need to know about the process, costs, delivery, travel and safety at a glance.
In three digital steps: first you submit your medical request – via a short online questionnaire or a video consultation. Next, independent, certified doctors review your information and ask follow-up questions if needed. If a prescription is medically indicated, it is issued and sent to a pharmacy of your choice. You then decide between shipping, pickup or express delivery – all discreet and paperless.
In general, adults aged 18 and over resident in Germany may be eligible if they have a condition requiring treatment for which standard therapies have not provided sufficient relief – such as chronic pain, migraine, sleep disorders, ADHD, spasticity or inner restlessness. Whether treatment is suitable is always decided case by case by a certified doctor.
The digital medical treatment including the prescription starts at €9.95, and an individual video consultation at €25.99. The therapeutic products themselves start at €3.95, depending on availability. We stand for transparent pricing with no hidden fees: you see all costs before you pay.
Treatment with CannaNow is a private-medical self-pay service on a private prescription. Coverage by statutory health insurance is possible in principle, but tied to high hurdles and an approval process that often takes several weeks – our cooperating private doctors cannot file a statutory-coverage application. Most patients therefore choose the self-pay route for a fast start. Privately insured patients may submit their receipts to their insurer. A side benefit: there is no automatic transfer of data to your statutory health insurer.
Very quickly: during our service hours, our doctors usually review your request within about an hour. If follow-up questions are needed or your request arrives outside service hours, it may take a little longer – but usually within 24 hours. A prescription is issued only if it is medically indicated.
Depending on your medical picture and history, our doctors can prescribe a wide range: cannabis flowers (Flos), extracts and dronabinol. We stock over 1,500 strains with real-time availability, so you can find the right product together with your pharmacy.
You have free pharmacy choice and several delivery options: discreet standard postal shipping (1–2 working days), express delivery in selected cities (often within 30–120 minutes, e.g. by Uber within roughly 2 hours) or pickup at the pharmacy – optionally with express processing within about an hour. Which options are available depends on the chosen pharmacy and your region.
As soon as your prescription is approved – during our service hours often within an hour – it is sent directly to your pharmacy. Standard shipping within Germany usually takes 1–2 working days. In selected cities, express delivery within about 2 hours or pickup is available.
Standard shipping is free above a certain order value; below that a small shipping fee applies. Express delivery or courier service may incur additional costs depending on the pharmacy and distance. You see the exact delivery costs transparently at checkout before you confirm your order.
With the CannaTravelPass you can carry your medication legally when travelling within the Schengen area. You receive an officially certified travel document issued by your doctor (the Schengen form under Art. 75 CISA) – we handle the authority process for you – plus a complete travel kit (odour-proof bag, multilingual documents, checklist). The CannaTravelPass starts at €95.99 including a 10-minute video consultation and one product; each additional product costs €49 (max. 3). The certificate is valid for up to 30 travel days; allow around 7 days lead time, or less with the express option. Non-Schengen countries have their own entry rules – check the regulations of your destination country before travelling.
Yes. Since 1 April 2024, medical cannabis is no longer a narcotic but is regulated under the Medical Cannabis Act (MedCanG). Any licensed doctor may prescribe it on a normal private prescription – a special narcotics prescription or prior approval from your health insurer is not required to get started. The prerequisite is a medical assessment of your individual case.
Like any medicine, medical cannabis can have side effects. At the start of treatment, tiredness, dizziness, dry mouth, difficulty concentrating, increased appetite or nausea are common; higher THC doses may cause restlessness or anxiety. Treatment is not suitable in cases including existing or previous psychosis, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Your doctor individually checks for possible contraindications and interactions. Always start with a low dose and report side effects promptly.
CannaNow expressly advises against driving while using medical cannabis and recommends that you do not take part in road traffic. It is true that when cannabis prescribed by a doctor is taken as intended, the administrative offence under Section 24a of the German Road Traffic Act generally does not apply – but this does not release you from your responsibility. If you do drive, only do so if you feel fully fit to drive; refrain from driving in particular during the adjustment phase, after a dose increase or a product change. Anyone who drives despite noticeable impairment is liable to prosecution under Section 316 of the Criminal Code. Carry your prescription as proof.
